The sun set yesterday at 5:07pm here in the Ozarks and didn’t rise until 7:25 this morning, marking the longest night of the year in the Western hemisphere. 14 hours and 18 minutes of darkness. More than half of our 24 hour planetary spin. Not bad compared to arctic Alaska where my son-in-law is headed in a few days. There he’ll get about 3ish hours of dusk like conditions before returning to over 20 hours of utter darkness.
But our geographical location rarely aligns perfectly with our interior landscape. Some may be feeling like Cancun on the inside, some of us might as well be in the Arctic.
This post is for the later.
